Title: Famous people of cryptography

Contents:

Hello DominoSecurity readers,

This newsletter is not directly related to the Notes and Domino products, but to the underlying ideas of information security...

On June 7, 2003 the ACM gave its Turing Award (for outstanding contribution in computer science) to Ronald Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adleman for developing the RSA encryption scheme. Below is a link to audio/video of their acceptance speeches, which should be of interest to anyone involved in computer security. Available for viewing are Dr. Ronald L. Rivest's presentation on the "Early Days of RSA"; Dr. Adi Shamir's talk on "Cryptology: A Status Report"; and Dr. Leonard M. Adleman's address on "Pre-RSA."
