Title: Upgrading to R7

Contents:

Hello DominoSecurity readers,

Just one link this time, to the new Lotus documentation about upgrading to R7. As always, any major version upgrade has security implications, which are addressed in the book.

http://www.lotus.com/ldd/notesua.nsf/ddaf2e7f76d2cfbf8525674b00508d2b/de2da7b609c6cb038525703b005e2f59?OpenDocument

I will also mention that I have a policy of never upgrading any important servers/workstations to the X.0 release of any major version. I like to wait until at least X.01 comes out, so Lotus can fix some initial bugs that customers found. Lotus says that R7.0 really is stable because they took the time to debug it before shipping it. They also said the same thing about 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0, so I'll stick with my recommendation for mission-critical systems.

(And since I am always suspicious of Domino web links that include DocID numbers, here is the generic link, in case the above stops working: http://www.lotus.com/ldd/doc.)
